Weekly blog ending 8th June 2018

Dear Parents, Carers,

We are now in our final term of the academic year. We still have a few more weeks to go before all the public examinations are complete and the Year 11 and Year 13 students can take a well-earned break; we wish them all the best with their remaining exams and look forward to seeing them in August when they collect their results.  Internal exams are also taking place and we wish all of our boys the very best. I realise that this can be a stressful time and they need to balance their revision with time to relax.

As always in the final term we have lots of events taking place, see dates below.   Our new Year 7s for September will be spending a day with us next month, and we look forward to welcoming new families to our community.   Due to the demand for school places, this year places were only offered  within our Parish area, and reached our 150 PAN before extending to all Parish areas.  We have 53 feeder schools this year compared with 80 from last year!

Kent 16+ Travel Card

Students entering Wilmington’s Sixth Form or Year 13 in September 2018 and who wish to apply for the Kent 16+ Travel Card may now make an application to KCC.  Please note that this year all applications and payment must be made directly to KCC, the school will not be accepting payments.  The council will be offering the opportunity to split the full year cost of £400 by applying two separate half-year passes costing £200 each for Terms 1 – 3 and Terms 4 – 6 respectively; please see attached letter for further details.  Passes will be sent to school for collection, and will arrive by September if KCC receive applications by Friday 13 July.  For more details of the Kent 16+ Travel card please visit the following link: www.kent.gov.uk/post16travel.
