Blog week ending 16th December

StuartIt’s starting to look a lot like Christmas!  What an eventful term!  I’d like to say a heart-felt ‘thank you’ to all our students, families and staff for your continued support of our school events and initiatives.  The generosity of the donations and support of our PTA events has been amazing, your contributions are incredibly valuable and will have an immediate and direct impact on both our own school and the wider community.

As you can see from the below photos, Christmas lunch was enjoyed by all (and especially by me!)  It was quite feat preparing a whole-school festive feast, our Catering team (pictured below) did a brilliant job, thank you.

The snow, whilst undoubtedly beautiful has posed a challenge for the premises team across our schools, who have been working tirelessly to keep our schools safe and accessible for us all - thank you.

Thank you to students from our joint WGSG and WGSB choir and orchestra who performed at the joint service on 8th December and on Sunday 11th at the Family Carol Service at the Church to rapturous applause!

The Year 12 Celebration Assembly provided an opportunity to congratulate students on their engagement and commitment to their A Level studies and share the new term of elective opportunities.  Well done to all students awarded a certificate and prize!  Entertainment was provided by our amazing WG6 musicians.

Our WG6 students helped deliver hampers to representatives of St Michael and All Angels who will distribute them to families in need in the local area – they were delighted with both the generosity and beautiful presentation of the hampers donated.  Thank you again, I know they will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for all the donations for the Salvation Army Foodbank in Dartford which Mr Powell and some of our Student Managers delivered this week.  The FoodBank was incredibly grateful for such a generous donation and asked us to pass on their sincere thanks on behalf of the many (and growing number of) families that unfortunately have to rely upon the Foodbank in order to make ends meet.
