Students from WG6 attended the Senior Mathematics Challenge this week at Ravensbourne School. The team performed brilliantly coming 8th overall, beating schools including Dartford Grammar and The Judd School - our best performance ever! United Kingdom Mathematics Trust promotes mathematical dexterity, teamwork and communication skills. They also give pupils the opportunity to compete against pupils from other schools in their region.
Our Y8 & 9 assembly was delivered by an external organisation from the Breaking the Cycle Programme. The programme aims to counteract violence by proactively addressing it’s most common roots including bullying, peer pressure and gossip. Breaking the Cycle speakers tell personal stories of life experiences that demonstrate how, through choosing to forgive, conflicts can be resolved and tensions eased. Their message is positive and non-religious - a direct appeal stressing self-respect and the unique value of each individual. The assemblies included the opportunity for students to ask questions to the speakers.
A reminder that it is Year 12 Parents’ Evening on 6th December at the Boys’ site, your sons/daughters are charged with making appointments with their teachers.
Congratulations to all students who had earnt inclusion on the Term 2 Rewards Trip and travelled to TeamSport ultimate go karting in London. The centre boasts a unique 800 metre multi-level layout which the boys took full advantage of.
Mr Smith accompanied the Y7 group who had a brilliant time, Jake B in 7D got the fastest lap and the best average lap time and Jack Martin 7B just piped Rylee Reeve 7S by 0.054 seconds for second place! All students performed very well, however there were lots of crashes and a few students that would suit ‘Driving Miss Daisy’
A very positive experience for them all!

I am delighted to share the news that Finnley D of 8D has been selected to attend a testing day with the British Gymnastics National Coaches at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire. Finnley recently took part in a competition in Birmingham competing at Elite Level 4 National Grades where he came to the attention of the National Coaches. Finnley’s stand-out routine included the pommel horse, high bar, parallel bars, floor, vault and rings. We are incredibly proud of your achievement and wish you all the best at your forthcoming testing day at the National Sports Centre.
