Week ending 12th October
All of the Year 9 Physical Education students were in action on the Rugby fields this week. Students enjoyed a lively rugby lesson, practicing passing and tackling techniques. They were playing the game using large Swiss balls, the purpose of this was to encourage players to get low and get underneath the ball when making a tackle. This enabled players to assume the correct, low body position when tackling.
The Y9 rugby team were in action against St Olave’s Grammar School, the WGSB team put in a valiant and spirited performance maintaining the pace and pressure till the final whistle.
The final score was St Olave’s 34 Wilmington Grammar 19.
