Following the promotion of the current post holder, Wilmington Grammar School for Boys is seeking to appoint an Assistant Head Teacher to take an active role in leading this exceptional 11-18, selective Boys’ School from April/September 2020. It presents an ideal opportunity for an ambitious middle or senior leader looking to further their career, and creates a rare opportunity to join a school that has the highest ambitions for its students.

This is an exciting time in the school’s development and the ideal candidate will be keen to embrace all that the new educational landscape has to offer. The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum with a specialism in maths and engineering. It has an enviable track record with GCSE results placing it in the top 20% for value added over the last few years.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • excellent teaching and analysis skills as well as an ability to coach; support and motivate others to excel in their subject specialism,
  • an excellent grasp of teaching and learning and be pro-active in developing the skills and competencies required to ensure the continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the school, whilst responding to emerging ideas and trends across the profession.
  • Evidence of impact in raising achievement beyond their own subject.

Wilmington Grammar School for Boys is an oversubscribed 11-18 year old selective Boys’ Grammar School, with a co-educational sixth form, run jointly with Wilmington Grammar School for Girls.
